University of Toledo
PhD Candidate

A third year PhD student, I am creating a habitat suitability index model to assess current habitat conditions for spawning adult and age-0 lake sturgeon in the Maumee River. The HSI model will aid a restoration plan aimed at reintroducing lake sturgeon to this system using stream-side rearing techniques. This project is a collaboration between researchers at UT, the USFWS, the Ohio DNR, and the Toledo Zoo.
I am testing the transferability of the model to other organisms and river systems and will be testing transferability on unionid communities in the Maumee.
I am interested in restoration ecology, public outreach and education, and Great Lakes systems.
