The Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference is proud to present our inaugural Ignite Session: a unique way to connect ideas, engage the audience, and elicit discussion about anything and everything we are passionate about in the wildlife profession. Similar to TED talks, we’ve brought together a diverse set of speakers that reflect on careers in science, challenge our wildlife paradigms, excite us with tales from the field, and share cutting edge research with just 5 minutes and 20 automatically rotating slides!
Join us for an exciting round of 5 minute Ignite talks meant to inspire, engage and perhaps ruffle a few feathers! Come see our dynamic line-up of speakers:
Dr. Mike Jones, Michigan State University – “Why don’t we just admit we don’t know what we’re doing?”
Dr. Kelly Millenbah, Michigan State University – "Education in the era of the millennials and beyond"
Dr. Jon Gilbert. Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission – “Are Indian treaty rights compatible with the North American model of wildlife conservation?”
Dr. Amber Roth, University of Maine – "Conservation art: art-science collaboration with conservation solutions"
(CANCELLED) Robin O’Malley, U.S. Geological Survey – “Limits to co-production in providing actionable science"
Dr. Tim Van Deelen, University of Wisconsin – “Professional ethics: it’s time to get serious”
