Oak Savanna Restoration and Management In Southwest Michigan

ABSTRACT: Attendees will be given an overview of savanna management and restoration techniques used by DNR wildlife biologists in southern Michigan. Points of discussion will include: history of savannas in Michigan and identifying sites for restoration work; a brief discussion of important flora and fauna of oak savannas; a discussion of several ongoing DNR savanna restoration projects and savanna management considerations and challenges.
