AUTHORS: Ryan Wheeler*, Michigan DNR; Dave Jentoft, Michigan DNR

ABSTRACT: Part 1: Cooperative Invasive Species Management Areas (CISMAs) have been forming in Michigan for the last decade. CISMAs are grassroots-led strategic partnerships that address invasive species in a geographic region across the spectrum of public and private lands. By working together with CISMAs, resource managers can collaborate on high priority invasive species, share and obtain additional resources, reduce duplication of efforts, and increase the effectiveness of invasive species projects.
